Crossover Event - Rabbit! Duck! Rabbit! - P. A. Nolte
1/ Bucky O'Hare and Darkwing Duck. Nose to beak. Furious.
Bucky: Duck season!
Darkwing: Rabbit season!
Bucky: Duck season!
Darkwing: Rabbit season!
2/ Bucky draws his gun.
Bucky: Duck season!
3/ Darkwing draws his.
Darkwing: Rabbit season!
4/ BOOM! An effect fills the panel with the sound of gunshot.
5/ Bucky and Darkwing smolder from the blast they just took, reduced to charred black silhouettes save their large, white, terrified eyes. They look directly out of the page, towards the reader, in that signature fourth wall-breaking Chuck Jones style. Behind them, visible for the first and only time, the background also reflects the picturesque watercolors of those old shorts. In this case, a forest.
6/ Lobo kicks back on his bike. Smoke drifts lazily upward from the barrel of his ridiculously oversized gun, intermingling with the smoke from his cigar.
Lobo: Hunting season.

Crossover Event: “Green Hornet vs J. Jonah Jameson”--David Press
1.1: J. JONAH JAMESON chomps on his cigar, spittle erupting from his mouth. This is the good old-fashioned version of Jameson—back at his job as EiC of The Daily Bugle—with lots of papers on his desk. How about a medium wide shot of Jameson and his desk? He’s talking to someone off picture.
1.JAMESON: There’s a new lunatic in town! As if we need one…
1B: I want to know who this nutcase is!
1.2 CUT TO: GREEN HORNET and KATO fighting off some hoodlums in a back alley.
2.CAPTION [Jameson]: “Who seriously calls themselves The Green Hornet?
1.3: THE BLACK BEAUTY lights a ramshackle apartment building on fire with a flamethrower that’s extended out of its headlights. CRACK ADDICTS run out of the abandoned building.
3.CAPTION: “I mean: what kind of nut job goes around torching abandoned tenement houses?
1.4: Green Hornet and Kato shake hands with DAREDEVIL and SPIDER-MAN as the SUPERIOR FOES OF SPIDER-MAN lay knocked out in the middle of the street.
4.CAPTION: “They’re allied with public nuisances Spider-Man and Daredevil!”
1.5: Back to the first panel, but this time JAMESON is standing up behind the desk. His complexion is bright red and there’s ash falling on papers on his desk. He might light up his office.
5.JAMESON: Who are these clowns?
1.6: Now for the big reveal: Jameson is talking to REED and Kato—the new owners of the Daily Bugle.
6.REED: Jeez, I dunno Jonah.

Crossover Event - Marvel Knights/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – MK Stangeland Jr.
(Done under the
‘Original merged story where the two properties always existed as part of the
same universe’ idea that I think a number of the Marvel/DC crossovers did at
one point. In this version, the HAND and the FOOT CLAN were once part of the
same ninja clan, but parted ways long ago for reasons, and now SHREDDER is
trying to forcibly reunite the two via a hostile takeover of the HAND.
Here, LEONARDO and
RAPHAEL have been in pursuit of ELEKRA, who they believe to be a HAND agent,
though she’s secretly a mole inside the organization.)
(8 Panels)
Panel 1: Night, above the rooftops of NEW YORK.
RAPHAEL and ELEKTRA’s sai’s collide as ELEKTRA blocks an attack from the
turtle.
SFX: TINNG!
RAPH: GRRR!
Panel 2: ELEKTRA redirects RAPH’s sai’s downward on
either side of her as she flips over him.
Panel 3: ELEKTRA lands as RAPH turns about.
RAPH: Think you’re pretty cute, huh?
Panel 4: LEO grabs ELEKTRA from behind, trying to put
her in a chokehold.
ELEKTRA: eRK!
LEONARDO: Don’t make me hurt you.
Panel 5: ELEKTRA leverages her body against LEO to
flip him over her.
ELEKTRA: Don’t worry, you…
Panel 6: ELEKTRA is caught off guard as LEO grabs
hold of her and lands on his feet rather than his back.
ELEKTRA: …won’t?!
Panel 7: LEO completes the counter as he flips
ELEKTRA over him and throws her.
Panel 8: RAPH clotheslines ELEKTRA as she flies by
him, probably putting more force into the move and enjoying it than necessary.
RAPH: Night night.
SFX: WHAM!

Crossover Event - Team-Up - Grant McLaughlin
1 - Daredevil and Batman stand back to back, surrounded by ninja from The Hand and the League of Assassins. Both wear cocky smiles on their faces.
CAPTION (1): What is teamwork?
CAPTION (2): Knowing our own limits when a situation is too big to handle alone.
DAREDEVIL: It hardly seems fair.
BATMAN: For them, you mean?
2 - Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn shake hands in an executive board room. Both wear grins that are devoid of mirth.
CAPTION: A temporary alignment of interests when there's an opportunity to achieve a greater end.
LEX LUTHOR and NORMAN OSBORN: Deal.
3 - Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes-edition) and Spider-Man sit on the edge of a rooftop, looking over the city before them. Blue Beetle looks expectantly towards Spider-Man, who puts his hand on the Beetle's shoulder.
CAPTION: Showing vulnerability when we open up to those around us.
BLUE BEETLE: ...You think you can help?
SPIDER-MAN: For sure.
4 - We're in a warehouse, looking down on an attaché case perched on the edge of a very tall shelving unit (think the kind of thing you see in IKEA when picking out the furniture pieces you want at the end). Down below, Killer Moth and Stilt-Man look up towards the case. Stilt-Man is very angry and frustrated.
CAPTION: And sometimes it's simply a matter of convenience.
STILT-MAN: You said you had a ladder!

Why Crossover Event?
Cross over events are a staple of the comic medium, from the common duos like Batman and Superman to the outlandishly unusual like Archie and Predator. They provide titillation and intrigue. They can breath new life into abandoned franchises and reinvigorate old ones. And most importantly they entertain by introducing entirely new ideas and situations for our heroes and villains.
Your task this week is to take two characters from different works and throw them onto the page together in a crossover event. Have them trade quips and/or blows. And, most importantly, have fun.
